Se spala orezul in cateva ape. Se pune intr-o cratita si se adauga atata apa rece incat sa-l acopere cu cel mult 1 cm. si se mai adauga un praf de sare. Se lasa la foc iute, dar dup ace-a dat 2-3 clocote se acopera cratita si se face focul extreme de mic. Dupa circa 25 de minute apa s-a evaporta in intregime si orezul este fiert.
